Apple Cranberry Stuffing
Easy Recipe

Serves 4 to 6

  • 5 cups Hawaiian sweet rolls, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ pound Sweet Apple Smart Chicken Sausage (or substitute sweet Italian sausage), diced
  • ½ diced onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1 tablespoon chopped sage
  • 1 tablespoon chopped oregano

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Place sweet rolls in a large bowl and set aside. In a medium pot over medium-high heat, melt the butter and add the sausage. Cook for about 5 minutes. Add onion, garlic, and chili flakes and cook until it starts to caramelize. Add apples and cranberries and lightly season with salt and pepper. Add chicken stock and cook until the liquid is reduced by half. Remove from heat and add the sage and oregano. Pour the sausage mixture over the bread and use a spatula to mix it well. Adjust seasoning and transfer into a lightly greased baking dish. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes in the oven.
